Elevating UberEats consumer search UX from functional to delightful

Overview
Over my three years on the team, I led key initiatives that shaped our search framework and elevated the search experience. Despite five reorganizations across three planning cycles, we consistently delivered impactful results — with Search recognized by our then-CTO as one of the company’s most delightful product improvements in 2023. In 2024, I designed and launched Eats’ first consumer-facing GenAI feature, the Eats AI Assistant, laying the foundation for future search and AI integrations.

With search driving nearly half of all grocery orders, our core question is: How might we make search intuitive so users can easily find what they need?
